We invite you to Saturday's all-level with Míša and Tibor, together with the party. The lesson will be on footwork variations.

Level: This lesson is for those who know the 6 basic 6-count patterns and whip (equivalent to completing the WCS I course)

It took a while, but after a few years, the fourth edition of WEst DRILL is finally here!

So what is it? Teachers from Brno and Prague under one roof - a weekend full of workshops - technique, variations, styles - workshops for all skill levels + parties on Friday and Saturday!

And it all rotates - so once in Prague, once in Brno, once in Prague, once in Brno... you get the idea. And now it’s Prague’s turn.

The dance studio will be open in the morning 30 minutes before the start of the workshops. Please arrive in advance.

Levels:

You need to know the 6 basic six-count patterns and the whip.

So you don’t have to worry about which workshop level is best for you, the instructors will divide you into groups during an “audition” that will take place on Saturday just before the first workshop.

Music will be played in the ballroom, and everyone will dance as if it were a party. Based on what they see on the dance floor, the instructors will hand out colored wristbands so that dancers of the same or similar skill levels are grouped together, ensuring everyone gets the most out of the workshops.

When registering, you’ll need to choose whether you’d like to participate in the Competition Class or the Guided Practice (the classes will run in parallel) .The Competition Class will focus on a quick introduction to competitions, and you’ll get to experience what it’s like to dance the spotlight in front of others. The Practice will focus on practising the material from the workshops, and most of the teachers will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Levels:

L2 - this level is intended for those who know the basic patterns (6 basic six-count patterns and the whip and its variations), but are not yet too sure about the party, or for those who are interested in improving the technical basics.

If you dance in WCS Prague, then the level corresponds to the completion of at least the WCS I beginner course.

L3 - this level is intended for those who are not afraid of the speed of the songs, at the party they don't think so much about what the next pattern will be, but rather how to make it interesting. Patterns and concepts such as rock`n`go, overrotation, slightshot, whip variations, extension of variations are not a problem, blues may be a challenge, but not an unknown element.

If you dance in WCS Prague, then the level corresponds to completing at least once WCS III+IV course.

Registration is possible as a couple or individually. To register as a couple, you need to apply for the same type of pass. If you apply without a partner, you will be placed on the so-called waiting list, i.e. that we will wait for someone to sign up for the opposite role (leader/follower) and then let you know.

The course is for everyone regardless of age and previous dance experience, or for those who are unsure of the six basic patterns and whip.

The course will teach the basic patterns of West Coast Swing and principles of leading or following which are important for couple cooperation and improvisation.

During the classes there is a rotation of partners.

WCS is danced in heelless shoes and the women usually wear pants rather than a skirt.

The course is for those who have already attended beginner classes at least once or the other West Coast Swing II course and know without any problem basic six-count patterns and the whip.

You will learn lots of new patterns, their variations and needed technique, of course. You will be able to dance with any partner of any level.

You should have completed both courses IIa and IIb. To cover these things, you should have no problem with overrotation, rock-and-go and using them in any basic patterns. At the party, you think more about how you would spice up the dance than about which pattern you remember.

We will further deepen our knowledge of more advanced variations, working with the frame and different styles of music.

The course is for those who have attended West coast swing III and West coast swing IV courses. If the course is listed as III + IV, then it should be taken at least three times. In addition, signing should be consulted with the teachers. Students should have no problem executing the patterns. They should strive for elasticity and musicality in their dance. At this level you should be able to dance well with dancers of any level.

We will further expand stockpile of patterns during the classes. However, the aim of the course is to master the technique so the emphasis is on execution and the ability to work with building-blocks rather than whole patterns.

Master class is for those of you who have already attended at least WCS III classes (i.e. at least once III + IV) and are interested in WCS technique. Do not expect any new patterns in this class.

The course will primarily focus on the technique of basic patterns, their execution and movement technique.
